Epic Systems Corporation develops integrated inpatient, ambulatory, and payer information systems for large healthcare organisations in the US. The company with its sound reputation and recent big wins such as for Kaiser Permanente is very well positioned in the market. Added to this is its partnership with Philips Medical Systems and the broad range of offerings it can now provide to its clients as well as the geographical scope Philips can offer Epic. TekPlus believes the company will need to expand beyond it current large Hospitals target base and focus on offering better value to Mid-sized clients as well. It will be interesting to see if Epic can leverage the Philips partnership opportunities beyond the US market and to other geographic regions, it rapidly needs to show a better international presence.
