Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is one of the leading IT services provider based in India. The company is growing rapidly mainly due to the BPO boom and it is the first Indian IT services company to cross the billion dollar annual revenues. TCS carries a strong heritage in the area of service provision. Geographically it span across many countries with especially a strong presence in India and the US. Its client retention rate is also excellent (around 75 percent). In the healthcare sector it offers good services and is slowly expanding its solution portfolio. TekPlus believes the company’s involvement in the UK NPfIT contracts will bring TCS some serious experience and money for further global opportunities in the health vertical. TCS recently also had its first public issue with the shares being oversubscribed – this brings sizeable investment, which could be leveraged to enhance future opportunities in the HIT segment. TekPlus believes the company is in a very promising position.
